Portrait, Bowcliffe Hall – Image of the Month – April 2012

Jonathan Turner, owner of Bowcliffe Hall near Wetherby has been overseeing the renovations of his luxury serviced offices. Part of the PR to promote sales was to photograph Jonathan, who I found to be a rather relaxed character. I’ve hopefully reflected this in his portrait. Thanks for looking, Harry.

New Bond Street – Image of the Month – March 2012

Street photography is really great fun and good for a photographers sole! This shot of a window display came from a brief subtitled “Inspirational Mayfair”. I took loads of images and it just waits to be seen wether this one is selected – I really like it. Thanks for looking, Harry.

Waterhouse Square, London – Image of the Month – February 2012

This is the spectacular reception/atrium area of 2 Waterhouse Sq. I produced images of every facet of this building (quite a few around the atrium) for DTZ’s book and brochure. This nighttime shot certainly stood out in the series for me. I love the balance of colour, brightness and contrast! Harry.

Rhiannon, A/W 2011 Poster – Image of the Month – January 2012

Shot in the summer and on release now is this soft tranquil poster image of Rhiannon. It’s a good example of placing the sun as a back-light and using a simple warm silver reflector to light up the subject. It emphasises a feeling of depth and helps mute the colours of the grass for that natural autumn look. We got some fantastic shots during this campaign and I had a great time shooting it, thanks to all who had a hand in it. Harry.

Harry Christmas – Seriously!!! – Image of the Month – December 2011

The much anticipated Season’s Greetings from Harry Christmas. After light heartedly performing for many years, it was time to get serious this year and showcase my modelling prowess!! Have a Merry Christmas, Harry.

Chancery Lane, London – Image of the Month – November 2011

A new London client commissioned me to to take local scenes around London Old Town, as with last months iotm I was keen to impress. They are marketing 2 Waterhouse Square and requested images to show the culture and vibrancy of the area. I had great weather and put my creative mind on full power. This shot was one of my favourites exploiting scale, depth, contrast and natural lighting. I think it would make a great jigsaw! Some more images from this shoot can be seen here Enjoy, H.

City Point, Leeds – Image of the Month – October 2011

Sorry but it’s been a while since my last input here. Must be a sign that I’ve been really busy over the summer! City Point was my first commission for a new property marketing client, so I was keen to impress. It’s a tall building in a tight corner, so getting a full shot with the building verticals correct was quite some challenge. I used my tilt and shift lens to correct them and retouched in a second frame of the sky to let the image breath. I got a great response from the client who commented “Hopefully we will be able to give you bags of work in future”. Always nice words to hear! Cheers, H.

Barley Tree – Image of the Month – July 2011

I’m always on the look out to add to my “Art In Landscape” series. I often pass this tree but to get the shot I wanted took a few visits over the last year – looking for that something extra in the shot. This was done as the sun had already set, giving the image a comfortable eery feeling. Cheers, H.

Mixed Martial Artist – Image of the Month – June 2011

Jason is a fascinating character! Whilst on set for a shoot promoting K2 Fightgear clothing, we also did some dramatic promotional portraits for magazine use. Jason gave me brilliant expressions as this image illustrates. He’s a really friendly chap but you wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley! Cheers, H.

UV Mat – Image of the Month – May 2011

It’s always exciting and challenging shooting for Spacekraft (Multi Sensory Solutions). Often mixing unusual ambient lighting with daylight and flash, this example is of a special needs pupil interacting with a UV Tactile Mat. I used a long exposure for the rooms UV lighting to give the mat the vibrant colour, my controlled flash is then isolated onto her face. The Spacekraft sensory room makes a great backdrop!
